Get familiar....with Drake

Okay so first I wanna apologize for the lack of posts on my part. School was kickin my ass but I made it through and walked across that stage (props to me!!). So with my free time I've been listening to music that I haven't really had time to accurately digest and I've rediscovered Canadian rapper Drake. Now some folks may look at the picture and think "I know this dude from somewhere" well I'll save you the time. He plays Jimmy on the teen drama Degrassi The Next Generation. But let's not focus on that. Yeah he's a rapper too. And guess what...he's NICE. No really this dude is really talented. He's better than a lot of folks' favorite rappers as far as skills are concerned. And I'm not just saying this because I'm a girl and he's good looking. Everybody's aware of the less than stellar state that rap music's in. So I'm not gonna waste my time jumping on the "Hip-hop is dead" train. At this point it's been done to death. But I will say this: If you're tired of the I'm in the trap selling that white girl and f*cking all the hoes type rap, Drake's definitely a breath of fresh air. His wordplay is ridiculous he's got great metaphors and a great flow. And he's got a couple of heavy hitters on his team like 9th Wonder, Big Brother, Lil' Wayne, Dwele, and Slum Village to name a few. And the beats on both his mixtapes "Comeback Season" and "Room for Improvement" are immaculate. He even remixes a Robin Thicke song and manages to not only not eff it up but make even more entertaining than the original (that's saying a lot coming from me seeing as how I have an unhealthy infatuation with Robin Thicke and his music, but I digress).
